The Sensuous Nude exploring the relationship between photographer and subject This special workshop is for experienced photographers—amateur and professional—who want to explore the most intimate side of portraiture…the nude. Learn techniques of both photography and psychology that are needed to boldly express your vision. Students will have the chance to build their portfolios and expand their knowledge of emotionally charged photography. Rob joins his students in a series of revealing exercises to unleash each photographer’s personal vision while he shows you how to build deep mutual trust and respect between photographer and subject—a vital component if your subject is to expose glimpses of his/her vulnerable nature and ultimate beauty, the inevitable goal of a truly powerful portrait. Students are encouraged and supported to take the risks necessary to communicate honestly and directly with their subjects, building the rapport vital to the creation of such compelling images. There will be in-depth portfolio reviews, demonstrations and practical time for students to create dramatic, intimate photographs with professional nude models. We will also briefly investigate the history of the nude/intimate portrait with an emphasis on the development of each student’s personal vision. Please bring a small portfolio of 12-15 samples of your most personal work—portraiture or not, and 10-15 rolls of Kodak BW400CN film or a digital camera and appropriate media. All work will be proofed overnight (lab costs are not included in tuition). Don’t miss this special event that will transform the way you see and photograph the human body forever! |
